G-Biosciences offers a wide selection of genomic isolation kits that purify high quality genomic DNA from a variety of sources and for a wide array of applications. G-Biosciences XIT™ DNA kits produce protein-free, high quality DNA through the principle of cell lysis, protein digestion and precipitation and genomic DNA purification. No chloroform or phenol extraction is required. High quality DNA can be isolated from sample types including: animal tissues, cells, whole blood, bacteria, buccal cells, plant tissues, mouse tail, yeast and FFPE tissue. G-Biosciences XIT™ DNA kit procedures remove contaminants and enzyme inhibitors allowing the purified DNA to be ready for immediate use for all downstream analyses. The purified DNA from G-Biosciences XIT™ DNA kits have a A₂₆₀/A₂₈₀ ratio between 1,7 and 1,9 (with the exception of the buccal cells kit with a ratio between 1,8 and 2,0) and are up to 200 kb in size.

G-Biosciences XIT™ genomic DNA kits for animal/plant/FFPE tissues, mouse tail, and buccal cells all use a three main step procedure that includes: rapid and efficient cell lysis then enzymatic protein digestion and complete protein precipitation, followed by DNA precipitation.

G-Biosciences XIT™ genomic DNA from tissue kit is designed for the isolation of genomic DNA from fresh, frozen or methanol/acetone fixed tissues. The kit is supplied with three protocols for the isolation of: 1 to 10 mg fresh or frozen tissue, 50 to 100 mg fresh or frozen tissue or 5 to 10 mg fixed tissue.

G-Biosciences XIT™ genomic DNA from plant tissue kit is designed for the isolation of genomic DNA from fresh or frozen plant tissues.

G-Biosciences XIT™ genomic DNA from FFPE tissue kit is designed for the isolation of genomic DNA from formalin fixed, paraffin embedded tissue.

G-Biosciences XIT™ genomic DNA from buccal cells kit is designed for the isolation of genomic DNA from buccal cells (cheek cells). The kit is available with or without cheek cell collection brushes; the kits without brushes use a mouthwash method to collect Buccal cells.

G-Biosciences XIT™ genomic DNA from mouse tail kit is designed for the isolation of genomic DNA from 5 mm sections of mouse tail.

G-Biosciences XIT™ genomic DNA from blood kit is designed for the isolation of genomic DNA from blood, bone marrow and buffy coat. The kit uses four main steps that are red blood cell lysis, rapid and efficient nuclear lysis, complete protein precipitation followed by DNA precipitation.

G-Biosciences XIT™ genomic DNA from cells kit is designed for the isolation of genomic DNA from adherent or suspension cultured cells. The kit uses rapid and efficient nuclear lysis and complete protein precipitation, followed by DNA precipitation.

G-Biosciences XIT™ genomic DNA from gram negative bacteria kit is designed for the isolation of genomic DNA from overnight cultures. XIT™ genomic DNA from gram negative bacteria kit protocol is designed to use 1 ml overnight culture; however the protocol can be easily adapted for larger tissue sample sizes. The kit uses three main steps that are rapid & efficient bacterial lysis, complete protein precipitation, followed by DNA precipitation.

G-Biosciences XIT™ genomic DNA from gram positive bacteria kit is designed for the isolation of genomic DNA from overnight cultures. The kit uses three main steps that are rapid and efficient enzymatic digestion of cell walls, spheroplast lysis and complete protein precipitation, followed by DNA precipitation.

G-Biosciences XIT™ genomic DNA from yeast kit is designed for the isolation of genomic DNA from overnight yeast cultures. The kit uses three main steps that are rapid and efficient enzymatic digestion of cell walls, spheroplast lysis and complete protein precipitation, followed by DNA precipitation. XIT™ genomic DNA from yeast kit protocol is designed to use 1 ml overnight culture; however, the protocol can be easily adapted for larger tissue sample sizes.

G-Biosciences XIT™ mitochondrial DNA kit combines G-Biosciences FOCUS™ mitochondria technology and XIT™ DNA isolation technology in a single kit. The kit uses subcell buffers to lyse cells and animal tissues and remove cellular proteins and nuceli from a highly enriched, intact and active mitochondrial fraction. The mitochondria are then lyzed with the included lysis buffer. The lysate is treated with G-Biosciences LongLife™ Proteinase K to degrade the proteins, which are then precipitated and the mitochondrial DNA is isolated with alcohol precipitation. The kit protocol also contains protocols for isolation of mitochondra from soft (brain and liver) and hard (cardiac and skeletal muscle) tissue.
